कानपुर, 21 सितंबर 2026। आज आईसीएआर-अटारी (ICAR-ATARI), जीटी रोड, रावतपुर, कानपुर द्वारा भारत सरकार के ‘स्वच्छता ही सेवा अभियान 2026’ के अंतर्गत में स्वच्छता हेतु जन-जागरूकता अभियान आयोजित किया गया। अटारी के निदेशक डॉ. राघवेंद्र सिंह ने बताया कि भारत सरकार द्वारा 17 सितंबर से 2 अक्टूबर 2026 तक ‘स्वच्छता ही सेवा अभियान’ चलाया जा रहा है, जिसके अंतर्गत प्रतिदिन विभिन्न स्वच्छता एवं जन-जागरूकता गतिविधियां आयोजित की जा रही हैं। इस अवसर पर अटारी कानपुर संस्थान के वैज्ञानिकों, अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों ने स्वच्छता की शपथ ली एवं संस्थान के आसपास के क्षेत्र में स्वच्छता जागरूकता अभियान चलाया। अभियान के दौरान आईसीएआर-अटारी कानपुर के वैज्ञानिकों एवं कर्मचारियों ने क्षेत्रीय निवासियों और दुकानदारों के पास जाकर स्वच्छता बनाए रखने की अपील की तथा स्वच्छ एवं स्वस्थ वातावरण के लिए स्वच्छता के प्रति जागरूक रहने का संदेश दिया।

Kanpur, 17 September 2026: The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone-III, Kanpur, along with the KVKs of Uttar Pradesh, participated in the “Ashirwad ka Diya” initiative on 17 September 2026, as part of the celebrations marking the birthday of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi ji. All KVKs of UP under ICAR-ATARI, Zone-III, Kanpur observed the initiative by lighting diyas at their respective premises at 7:00 PM with the participation of Farmers and KVK staff. The KVKs also mobilized farmers, rural youth and women farmers in their respective districts to participate in the initiative by lighting diyas at their homes. The collective participation across Uttar Pradesh reflected the spirit of community engagement and the commitment of the agricultural extension system towards farmers and rural communities. The initiative symbolized good wishes, collective commitment and the spirit of service towards farmers and rural communities. KVKs across the State actively participated in the programme and documented the celebrations through photographs and social media posts for wider outreach.

On 11 August 2026, a two-day Hands-on Training on Landscape Diagnostic Survey (LDS) using Open Data Kit (ODK) (11-12 August 2026) jointly organized by ICAR-ATARI, Zone-III, Kanpur and IFPRI, New Delhi was inaugurated at ICAR-ATARI, Zone-III, Kanpur. The training programme aimed at strengthening the capacity of KVK scientists in digital, data-driven and evidence-based agricultural extension for generating reliable field-level information to support research and policy formulation.

Welcoming the participants, Dr. Raghwendra Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-III, Kanpur, emphasized that quality data is the greatest strength of an effective agricultural extension system. He further stated that the data collected through the Open Data Kit (ODK) platform would generate reliable, real-time field insights that could be effectively utilized for research prioritization, technology refinement and evidence-based decision making, thereby strengthening regional extension strategies and enhancing the impact of the Landscape Diagnostic Survey.

Addressing the participants, Dr. R.K. Malik, CSISA, stressed that the primary focus of the survey should be to understand the district-specific needs and challenges of farmers, so that research, extension interventions and policy decisions are aligned with local realities and contribute to demand-driven agricultural development. Dr. Arindam & Dr. Madhulika also highlighted the importance of LDS-ODK in present scenario.

The training was attended by Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) from the various KVKs of UP & Bihar including KVK Chandauli, Gonda-I, Siddharthnagar, Gaya, Rohtas and Muzaffarpur. During the technical sessions on first day, Dr. R.K. Malik (CSISA) provided an overview of the Landscape Diagnostic Survey (LDS), its objectives, scope and expected outcomes, while Dr. Madhulika and Dr. Arindam conducted comprehensive hands-on sessions on the Open Data Kit (ODK)-based digital survey platform, covering questionnaire navigation, interview techniques, data entry protocols, validation checks, quality control, troubleshooting and real-time data collection. Scientists and project staff from ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur and Patna also participated in the technical sessions and interacted with experts throughout the programme which promoted cross learning and collaborative knowledge sharing.
